The Italian General Consulate in London delivers speakers of “Wheels and Pencils – the protagonists of cars and bikes Italian design” conference.

The Italian General Consulate in London with the King’s College Italian Society and Italia Notizie 24 announces the speakers of “Wheels and Pencils – the protagonists of cars and bikes Italian design” London conference on March 14th 2020.

The conference will celebrate the achievements of Italian designers and brands in over a century of automotive industry history.

Openers of the conference are:
Samuele Bacci, president of King’s College Italian Society;
Pietro Nigro, Ceo of Italia Notizie 24 scarl.

Chairman of the conference will be:
Marco Villani, Italian General Consul in London.

The speakers who will discuss Italian design and classic cars and motorcycles in the conference are:

Alessandro Belluzzo, chairman of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Uk, 42 y.o. italian professional from Verona, layer and advisor of Italian families and enterprises in London.

 

 

Alberto Scuro, 62, from Verona (Italy), president of the Italian Historical Automotoclub since April 2019, after having been Federal Council member since 2011 and vice-president since 2018; a great fan of motors and car competitions – rally in particular – he is a collector of historic cars since his youth and, since the 1990s he has actively participated in the social activities of sector clubs and the national federation; he is a surgeon in charge of the Minimally Invasive and Endovascular Vascular Surgery Unit of the Integrated University Hospital of Verona.

Benedetto Camerana, 57, architect, since 2012 president of Mauto – Torino National Car Museum, president of the Lingotto Consortium, founder of Camerana and Partners, professor at the Polytechnic of Turin and at IED, European Institute of Design in Milan and Turin.
Mariella Mengozzi, 58, from Forlì (Italy), director of Mauto – Torino National Car Museum, with former experiences in Walt Disney, Ferrari and Ferrari Museum.

Jean Marc Borel, creator of the “ModernArt project, The Sculptors of the movement”, President of B. Engineering, from 1988 to 1998 President of Bugatti International Holding S.A.

 

 

Enrico Fumia, 72, from Turin (Italy), designer and designer-manager, after Aeronautical engineering graduation, in 1976 joined Pininfarina where in 1989 he became Deputy General Manager of Pininfarina Studies and Research (designing, among others, Alfa Romeo 164, Gtv and Spider, Audi Quartz and Ferrari F90); in 1991 he moved to Fiat Auto as Director of the new Lancia Style Center and designed the Lancia Y; in 1998 he founded Master Design International with Aldo Sessano and worked for Mitsubishi, Suzuki and Subaru, then in 2002 he created Fumia Design Associati and developed projects in all fields of industrial design and architecture especially for the Japanese market and designed the Chinese car Chery QQme.

All of them will reveal their personal stories and will comment some unreleased videos on the History of Italian Design and Designers.
